SAINT was founded on March 1, 2005 as one of the core programs of Sungkyunkwan University's VISION plan to be ranked in the top 100 universities in the world.
With the financial support from Samsung Advanced institute of Technology (SAIT), our goal is to become one of the top 5 nanotechnology-related institutes in the world.
To achieve our goal, we establish an infrastructure, recruit the best researchers, and initiate networking with worldwide nanotechnology conferences, publish a SCI-level journal, and establish a graduate school dedicated to nanotechnology research and education. We think seriously about our institute, and its future will largely depend on you who are highly motivated in pursuing our goal.
Considering the potential impact of nanotechnology on future economic growth, it is one of the top research priorities in many countries including Korea because advanced countries need to exploit their future technology independently. I believe SAINT will play a crucial role and generate edge technology in this field.
I recognize that another important mission of our institute is to educate and train students who will become leaders in the next generation of industrially advanced countries. In this sense we are very fortunate to have successfully recruited world-first class researchers along with providing well-equipped research facilities.
Our high quality tutoring system encourages students to learn this fascinating field. We have made great strides towards big success, and now we want motivated young graduate students who recognize the importance of our mission and goal. Working in our institute should stimulate you and be fruitful for your career as well.
I look forward to seeing many intellectual students and researchers joining our institute and proceeding towards our goal,
