Optical nanoantennas, which are the fundamental components of metasurfaces, allow for the manipulation of light at the nanoscale. While nanoantennas made from metallic or high-index dielectric materials have been widely researched, the unique potential of organic nanoantennas to create a new class of nanoantennas has only recently been recognized. This presentation will highlight nanoantennas made from metallic and semiconducting organic materials, as well as the associated nanofabrication techniques. The capabilities introduced by these organic nanoantennas could enable a range of applications, including large-area, flexible, fully-organic metasurfaces for tunable meta-optical components, bio-sensors, smart windows, etc.
