SAINT hosted a special lecture titled “The Champion’s Mindset: A Gold Medal Journey and the Power of Immersion” on January 5 at 1:30 PM.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Won-Hee Lee, currently a professor at Yongin University and a former member of the Korean national judo team as well as an Olympic gold medalist. Professor Lee won the gold medal in the men’s 73 kg judo category at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and achieved Korea’s first-ever judo Grand Slam, earning gold medals at the 2003 World Championships, 2004 Athens Olympics, and the 2006 Doha Asian Games. He is also widely known as the “master of ippon,” having secured decisive victories in nearly all of his Olympic matches.
In this lecture, Professor Lee shared insights from his athletic career, focusing on the concepts of deep immersion, perseverance, and mental focus, and discussed how these principles can be applied beyond sports to academic research, personal growth, and professional development.
