Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) are promising materials for next-generation light-emitting applications due to their size-dependent bandgap tunability, high photoluminescence quantum yields, and solution-processability. These features make them ideal candidates for displays requiring a wide color gamut. By precisely controlling their structure, NCs can be engineered to exhibit tailored optical properties. In this talk, I will introduce our recent efforts on the design and synthesis of colloidal semiconductor heterostructures optimized for light emission. Additionally, I will discuss strategies for modifying surfaces and interfaces to enhance both optical and electronic properties, aiming to improve device performance in display applications
