- A method to fabricate highly porous YSZ layers on the fabric by flame spray coating with polymer injection to protect CFRP from the flame.
- The porosity and structure stability according to the feed rate of PEEK were investigated to manufacture TBC for CFRP under optimal conditions.
- The epoxy of the pre-cured CFRP was impregnated with the TBC coated CF via vacuum bagging process between the CFRP and TBC layers to form a strong adhesion.
- After the thermal shock test at 500 oC, TCFRP is 230 oC and the flexural strength maintained 87% of the original. This study suggest that other thermal spray coatings can alaso be applied to CFRP to impart various properties
