Notice for Comprehensive Examination and Foreign Language Examination,
the 1st Semester of 2016
1) Overview
Examinations to qualify graduate students for thesis defense
2) Examination Schedule
○ Application Period: 3. March (Thu.) – 14. March (Mon.)
○ Application: Through GLS
○ Date of Examination: 31. March (Thu.), More details will be noticed later.
3) Requirements for the application
| Foreign Language Exam | Comprehensive Exam |
Master's course | Students who have registered | Students who have taken more than 15 credits (average grade is B or above) |
Master's & Ph.D. course | Students who have registered | Students who have taken more than 39 credits (average grade is B or above) |
Ph. D. course | Students who have registered | Students who have taken more than 27 credits (average grade is B or above) |
4) Examination subjects
○ Foreign Language Examination
- English (subjective questions and multiple-choice questions to be solved in 50 minutes)
○ Comprehensive Examination ( M.S.,Ph.D, M.S.& Ph.D.)
- Students who enrolled the course after 2010
:Introduction to Nano-Science, Introduction to Nano-Enginnering
- Students who enrolled the course before 2009
(Select 3 subjects among the below list including the mandatory subject.)
:Introduction to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Nano Physics, Nano Cheminstry,
Nano Devices, Nano Materials, Introduction to Nano-Science, Introduction to Nano-Enginnering
○ Passing Grade: 70/100 points
5) Exemption
○ Foreign Language Examination
- Students who have taken more than 800 points in TOEIC, 230 in CBT or 728 in TEPS
※ Students who are qualified for exemption must submit "Exemption Application"
during the exam applying period.
